The successful candidate will play an important role in developing new business opportunities, strengthening existing customer relationships, and providing technical sales support to wineries, vineyards, wine producers, and other businesses within the food and beverage sector.
You will report directly to the Regional Manager based in the Western Cape and work closely with the General Manager in Johannesburg. Although this is a remote position, occasional travel to Johannesburg will be required for meetings, product training, planning sessions, and company events.

About the Role
As a Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and expanding the company’s customer base throughout the Western Cape. Your primary focus will be identifying new business opportunities while ensuring exceptional service to existing customers.
You will spend much of your time visiting clients, understanding their production requirements, recommending suitable products, preparing quotations, negotiating sales, and ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.
This position combines technical knowledge with relationship-building, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both sales and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with wineries, vineyards, distributors, and other industry clients.
- Growing sales within your allocated territory.
- Identifying and securing new customers through networking, cold calling, referrals, and market research.
- Visiting customers regularly to understand their operational needs.
- Promoting and selling specialised products to the wine and food industries.
- Preparing accurate quotations and pricing proposals.
- Following up on quotations and converting opportunities into sales.
- Achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Managing customer accounts and ensuring excellent after-sales service.
- Providing technical product support during laboratory testing and production trials.
- Assisting customers with product recommendations and application guidance.
- Monitoring industry trends and competitor activity.
- Collecting valuable market intelligence to support business growth.
- Preparing weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Working closely with management to develop annual sales budgets and forecasts.

- Building long-term partnerships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should ideally possess the following:
- Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in external sales, marketing, business development, or customer service.
- Proven ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets.
- Strong experience in business development and customer relationship management.
