About the Role

As a Code 8 Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and timely collection and delivery of goods to suppliers and customers while maintaining excellent customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

Deliveries & Collections

Your primary responsibility will be ensuring goods are collected and delivered safely and efficiently.

This includes:

Collecting products and stock from suppliers.
Delivering customer orders accurately and on time.
Planning delivery routes to maximise efficiency.
Ensuring all deliveries are completed according to company procedures.
Obtaining customer signatures and proof of delivery where required.
Providing friendly and professional customer service during every delivery and collection.
Reporting any delivery issues or delays promptly to management.

Warehouse & Stock Support

When not on the road, you will assist with warehouse activities to ensure smooth daily operations.

Responsibilities include:

Picking customer orders accurately.
Packing products according to company standards.
Preparing deliveries for dispatch.
Assisting with stock receiving.
Verifying that goods received match supplier invoices and delivery documentation.
Participating in stock counts and inventory control.
Assisting with organising warehouse stock for easy accessibility.
Maintaining accurate stock handling procedures.

Loading & Handling Products

This position requires physical involvement in loading and unloading products.

Duties include:

Assisting with loading customer deliveries.
Safely moving products within the warehouse.
Helping customers with loading purchased goods where required.
Ensuring products are secured correctly during transportation.
Using packing materials responsibly and efficiently.
Keeping products protected from damage during transport.

Vehicle Care & Safety

The company vehicle represents the business and must always be maintained to a high standard.

Responsibilities include:

Keeping the company vehicle clean inside and out.
Conducting daily vehicle inspections before departures.
Reporting mechanical faults immediately.
Ensuring routine vehicle maintenance schedules are followed.
Driving responsibly and obeying all South African road traffic regulations.
Ensuring straps, tie-downs, and delivery equipment are neatly stored after each trip.
Treating company vehicles and equipment with care and respect.

Customer Service

Minimum Requirements

Valid South African Code 8 Driver’s Licence.
